Our Leadership

Rick Schellenberg

Elder

As the son of founding members Jake and Ruth Schellenberg, Rick is a second generation member and elder at Prairie Chapel. He and his wife Elma have three grown children who were all raised at the church. Rick is part of a family of entrepreneurs and together with his brother, leads the Clearway Car & Truck Rentals company, which serves the entire Lower Mainland.
Rick and Elma have a special love for seniors and all those with special circumstances in the congregation. He oversees our Helping Hands ministry. At Christmastime and for special events, you’re likely to see Rick driving one of his buses full of Prairie families for caroling or adventuring.

Wes Dyck

Elder

Wes and his wife Sharon have been members of Prairie Chapel for many years. They have four grown children, two of whom serve in the congregation with their own families.
Wes serves as worship leader and overseer, and hosts a weekly care group in their home.
He serves as engineering manager at Mainland Machinery, designing solutions for US and Canadian customers.
When not at work or church, Wes can be found tending to his incredible flower and vegetable gardens with Sharon.

Clarence Janzen

Elder

Clarence has attended Prairie Chapel for over 15 years. During this time, Clarence has served by leading Prairie Chapel’s youth and young adults groups.
Clarence lives in Chilliwack and has five grown children (four of whom serve at Prairie Chapel) and three grandchildren. Outside of ministry, Clarence enjoys camping with his family and following his Calgary Flames as he stays involved with their busy family.
Clarence is an itinerant speaker for Creation Ministries International, and is presently pursuing a master’s degree in the School of Biblical Apologetics from the Institute of Creation Research.

Mike Chalmers

Pastor

Pastor Mike was called to shepherd and serve alongside the people of Prairie Chapel in 2018. He and his wife, Tanya, have five children.
Mike is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles, California (MDiv). His hope and effort is to see the name of Christ exalted at Prairie Chapel and throughout the world, through the preaching of the Gospel to all who will hear (Romans 10:17).

Aaron Haynes

Associate Pastor

Pastor Aaron has been serving the people of Prairie Chapel since 2022. He and his wife Sarah met in California where he began a Bible program at the Masters University followed by attending The Masters Seminary where he is completing his studies. Apart from ministry, Aaron and his family can be found exploring the beautiful Fraser Valley. Aaron looks to Christ to see the people of Prairie grow and mature to the fullness of their Savior until He returns.
