Doxology for the Church United

Speaker:
Passage: Ephesians 3:20-21
Service Type:

We’ve learned what Paul describes in Eph. 3:19 as “the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge”. It is with this increasing knowledge that our hearts are drawn to Christ more and more. From this our love for one another increases, as does our unity.

In contrast to this, what does the world say? It says empty your mind, and focus on nothing or anything—just not Christ. The world promotes a religion of ignorance and a fleeting bliss that seems to be just beyond reach at every turn.

Nowadays they promise a utopia, which sounds alright, but how to get from here to there is a mystery. They have yet to figure out how to have a utopia full of sinners.

Well, you and I have learned of the promises of God for a church united in Christ today, and a people forever united in Christ in future. And so Paul wells up with praise in these final two verses of Ephesians 3. But his exulting isn't just an addendum to his prayer.

Study with us today as we learn much about our great hope, through this very doxology of the apostle. Truly, it is a doxology for the worldwide church united.
