Asking, Seeking, and Knocking in Prayer
Bible Text: Matthew 7:7-11 | Speaker: Mike Chalmers | Series: Messiah and King | If ever there were a privilege in the Christian life, infinitely valuable, yet so lightly treasured, prayer might be it. Yes, everyone values prayer in time of need, but how many live with such total dependence on God every day and at all times?
In this passage of Matthew prayer will be seen as something continuous, constant, and precious. The Bible also makes clear that while Jesus tells us to pray knowing the Father answers prayer, He never promoted the idea that everything we want, He gives us.
What did He ultimately promise? That’s what this message helps us to understand. When we have a thoroughly biblical mindset, we will more easily understand all of the words of Christ.
