Our Father

The Lord’s Prayer assumes:
1. We know who God is
2. We know God as our Father
3. God the Father is Unique

Jesus’ disciples wanted to know how to pray the way that He prayed; they wanted to know what to say. Jesus told them to address God as Father—He is Our Father. He loves us deeply and wants us to take time to be with Him. He is also Our Father in Heaven—He is over all and above all and in control of everything.
