Throughout our entire series on the sovereignty of God, we have seen in Scripture that this attribute of God—His power, providence, and purpose—is intended to be a comfort to the believer. Nowhere is this more evident than in the doctrine of the future. What God has promised in ancient times has either transpired, or will transpire. What He has declared will stand and no one and nothing can derail His plans or His will in any area. Do you have worry or anxiety about tomorrow, or next week, or next year? Do you fear what is happening in our nation? God has given you every reason to trust Him, and studying the future from a biblical perspective will greatly help the sincere believer who wants to honour the Lord.
