Hallowed Be Your Name

What did Jesus mean when He taught us to pray “Hallowed Be Your Name”? Was it just a catchy phrase to be repeated in a prayer? Was it asking God to somehow mysteriously glorify Himself somewhere, sometime in the future? OR, is it a petition that we can be actively involved in every day?
